EDUCATION
Madison County continues to have one of the highest high school graduation rates in the State at 94%. An estimated 77.8% have a bachelors degree or higher, with an additional 70.7% of residents having completed some college coursework, including associate degrees. Enrollment levels at area schools and universities continued to climb in 2008 along with graduation rates. School student enrollment in grades K-12 totaled 11250 in the Madison County school district in the 2007/2008 school year. Student/teacher ratios averaged 1:16. The Madison County school district exceeded the state average on national standardized skills assessments. Madison County continues to grow and support the growth of the area community colleges and universities.
