Education

EDUCATION: New facilities, great faculties, grade A achievement. Madison County schools aim for the top, in facilities, faculty and standards that put students at the forefront of learning and life. We’re building new facilities—11 in the past 12 years—even as we build performance at every school and classroom. Of the 17 district schools evaluated in the 2009-2010 school year, 14 schools in the Madison County School District had attained successful or higher status; six schools achieved star status. Area private schools offer additional choices, with the same standards of excellence. For example, St. Andrews, located in Madison, has been named one of the top100 feeder schools for the Ivy League, with 20% of graduating seniors qualifying as National Merit semifinalists in 2012.
