Commercial Airports

The Jackson-Evers International Airport, located approximately five miles south of Madison County, is a United States Customs port of entry and a designated foreign trade zone (FTZ 158). The airport is within 500 miles of approximately 76 major metropolitan areas and over one third of the nation’s population.

The airport is served by two parallel 8,500-foot runways and an all-weather Category III precision approach landing system, and is attended 24 hours. Aircraft fuel, repairs, and charters are available through a full-service, fixed-base operator. Rental cars, restaurant, and ramp and warehouse facilities for air freight haulers are also available.

  • Eight airlines provide 40 non-stop flights per day to 10 cities
  • Home to two air cargo carriers
  • Situated on 3,343 acres, the airport has more than 1,200 acres allocated for economic development opportunities.

In 2010, the Jackson-Evers International Airport was recognized by the Airports Council International as a worldwide top-performing airport in the category rating airports in the fewer than 5 million passenger category.

Local Airports

Madison County’s local air needs are served by Bruce Campbell Field. The airport has a runway measuring 4,444 feet and is equipped to handle various types of aircraft from the smallest plane to bigger-sized planes such as King Air and Citation. Lear jets can also land at Bruce Campbell Field. The staff at the facility provides services such as fueling, hangar service, catering for events, limousines, taxis, and rental cars.

The airport serves approximately 90 corporate and private customers and averages about 4,000 landings per year.
