Like any 2-year-old, Madison River Oaks Medical Center is still growing.

“Since opening our new campus two years ago, the growth of both services and medical clinics has been phenomenal. We knew growth would be swift but had no idea of the level of interest in this location,” said Glen Silverman, the hospital’s chief executive officer.

Physicians’ case volumes have steadily increased, medical staff and employees have been added and new medical technology has required more space since Madison River Oaks opened in May 2011 on 60 acres off Nissan Parkway in Canton, he said.

“We’ve managed to accommodate physicians so far, and at times this has been difficult. We do have plans in place to expand so that we can accommodate the growth. In fact, we have several projects in the works right now. We hope to break ground on the new 30,000-square-foot medical office building later this year,” Silverman said.

Currently, Madison River Oaks is spread over 113,000 square feet and includes medical-surgical unit, labor and delivery suites, an intensive care unit, four operating rooms and a broad array of outpatient services and specialty clinics. An added bonus is that the hospital and six medical clinics representing a variety of specialists are located together on the campus.

The Specialty Center offers specialty care in a convenient, one-stop location for services like, screening endoscopies, pain management, cosmetic enhancement, plastic surgery and pelvic health. Diabetes education and wound care will also soon be added to the roster. Nearby, Madison Primary Care, Madison OB-GYN Associates and Dr. Patrick B. Wood are located in The Oaks Building.

Other obstetrician-gynecologists near the campus include Hicks Healthcare for Women and Mallory Health Clinic. Sunshine Medical Clinic offers pediatric medical services. Central Surgical Associates has opened a satellite clinic which not only enhances the hospital’s access to surgeons but also allows patients the convenience of pre- and post-operative clinic visits without having to drive to downtown Jackson
