Inaugural Task Force Meetings for Strategic Plan a Success

All task force committees of the Madison County Strategic Economic Development Plan met on Wednesday, March 20th to exchange ideas about the goal and strategic actions that are the responsibility of each committee. Consultants Ed Bee and Dave Kolzow of Taimerica Management Company facilitated the meetings and have been involved in each stage of the creation of the plan.

The implementation of the Strategic Plan is being carried out by seven committees, each focusing on one of seven goals: Collaboration, Education and Workforce, Health Care, Quality of Life, Transportation and Economic Diversification. Committee meetings were filled with prominent Madison County leaders that are committed to see this plan to fruition.

Specific strategies and associated performance measures were discussed in each committee to ensure that the goals would be achieved.  Measurable outcomes will be determined for each goal to monitor the progress of the planning effort. Each committee elected a “Champion” as the communication manager who is responsible for updating other group members of monthly meetings and progress with implementation. The Committee Champions include:

Consultant Ed Bee said, “I was impressed with the level of support of the business and government leaders for this Transformation process.  Over 75 of the “who’s who” in Madison County showed up for the team meetings. With the caliber of leaders involved, Madison County is bound to see major improvements in education and workforce training, quality of life, health care, transportation and economic diversification in the next five years.  Taimerica is delighted to be part of what is going to be cited in the future as a national model of successful community development.”

The Madison County Foundation is proud to be involved with local influential leaders to plan for the future of the County and to implement those strategic actions that will make this vision come true.
