“We are excited to be a part of the Mississippi Bio- Medical Business Collaboratory”, said Dr. David Powe, CEO of TelehealthONE. “Located in the Madison County Healthcare Zone, designated by Governor Phil Bryant and the Mississippi state legislature, our employees are excited to be a part of this new 60,000 square foot facility.”
“We launched our first Walk-In Medical Clinic in Canton and our first Long Term Care product in Brookhaven, Mississippi last month.” said Todd Barrett, COO of TelehealthONE, “Our new location gives us the capability to expand our services to our clients with cutting edge technology from a central office”.
Telehealth provides patients with immediate access to a healthcare provider using innovative technology and the Internet of Things (IOT).
The CEO of the American Telehealth Association, Jonathan Linkous stated, “Studies have shown that telehealth can improve access, reduce costs, and improve the quality of healthcare.” Additionally, remote connections improve patient access by removing barriers of time and location, as well as allowing easier delivery of health care on a continuing basis. This is particularly helpful for patients who need quick and easy access to care in rural areas or for those in need of physician specialists.
In April 2013, Mississippi became the 16th state to enact into law those provisions, which require health insurance plans to provide payment for telehealth medicine. Telehealth services are now covered like conventional “in-person” healthcare. Proudly, Mississippi has received an “A” grade for both policy and legislation, making Mississippi one of only seven states to receive this premium rating.
