RIDGELAND – The Madison County Chamber is proud to celebrate the winners of their “Best of Madison County” Awards Program, honoring companies and individuals that have played a significant role throughout 2013 in making Madison County a great place to live and work. The eight award recipients have taken an initiative in advancing the success of Madison County through their professional contributions, civic and social involvement and leadership.
The categories and winners are as follows: Small Business of the Year: Fleet Feet; Large Business of the Year: Nissan; Community Impact: Southern Beverage Company; Best New Business: Fresh Magnolia Market; Best Place to Work: Mint the Restaurant; Favorite Restaurant: Georgia Blue; Rising Star Award: Brandon Wilkins, Brown Bottling & Jim Petersen, Pinnacle Trust
The Chamber also recognized its Liaison of the Year that gave time and effort into the Chamber the past year. The surprise award was given to Becky White, Eubank Betts Hirn Wood.
The Chamber welcomed nominations from the public and once voting went live, all Chamber members received an e-invitation to submit their vote, and links to the survey were continuously posted on the Chamber website, Facebook and LinkedIn pages, and Twitter to allow the community to vote for their favorite nominees. In 15 days, over 1600 votes were submitted. The winners were announced at the “Best of Madison County” Annual Event & Awards Program which took place Monday, October 28 at Plantation Commons in Madison.
