MADISON — A four-story, 125-room new hotel has received approval from city officials to be built here. A new Marriott Courtyard Hotel, complete with small conference center, is being developed on on the corner of Highland Colony Parkway and Miss. Highway 463 next to the Baptist Healthplex. The hotel is being developed by Kerioth Corporation, the developers in charge of The Township at Colony Park. Officials approved a site plan architectural specs last week. Alan Hoops, director of environment and design for the city, said the company will now submit for a building permit and anticipates work to begin in the coming weeks. “They did a great job with the architecture,” he said. “We’re excited about getting it built.” This will be the second hotel inside Madison’s city limits. Currently, the Hilton Garden Inn is the only hotel. Officials also approved plans for Memory Care of Madison, a residential living facility for people with neurological injuries or illnesses. That building will be located on Mannsdale Park Drive near the Beagle Bagel Cafe. Construction continues on several projects in the city, Hoops added. Hoops said the pad has been finished on the Taco Bell located on 463 near Grandview Boulevard. Adjacent to the Taco Bell, a Verizon store is being erected. Down the road on Grandview Boulevard, work continues on a new development that will feature Kirklands, David’s Bridal, Firehouse Subs and a Moe’s Southwest Grill.
