MADISON – The City of Madison again sets the tone for doing things the right way. That is evident with the naming of Neighborhood Information Manager, George Ellmore, as the Presi- dent of the Mississippi Association of Code Enforcement Officials (MACE).

The mission of MACE is to act as a statewide nonprofit association representing the profession of code enforcement to educate, elevate and improve the profession of code enforcement by fostering code compliance through its certification program, education, training and enforce- ment to provide minimum standards for the protection of the publics health, safety and welfare.

Ellmore has worked with the City of Madison for over five years as the liaison between the Madison Organization of Neighborhood Associations (MONA) and city officials to ensure the integrity of property values throughout the city by preserving and honoring the codes set in place by city officials.

MONA’s general purposes are to promote and enhance the quality of neighborhoods of the City of Madison, foster cooperation among existing neighborhood organizations and encore- age neighborhood representation where no homeowners’ organization exists, provide favorable public commentary and public relations on issues of general concern to the organization, and create a central repository of information that can be disseminated quickly.

Ellmore also oversees code enforcement within the City of Madison.

The MACE Board of Directors consists of seven elected officers plus the past president who serves in an advisory capacity.
