MRA’s new middle school as seen in a rendering MADISON — An expansion at Madison-Ridgeland Academy that includes a new middle school and cafeteria was approved by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen Tuesday. Alan Hoops, director of environment and design for the city, said MRA is almost ready to begin construction but there are a few design features still being tweaked through his department. Hoops said the addition will be a three-story building situated in the middle of the campus closer to St. Augustine Road. He said plans are to reshape the playground area and do away with the softball field. In addition, MRA plans to add more parking spaces. Hoops said the school will also beautify the campus with the planting of more shrubs and trees, specifically along the border with Traceland North subdivision. The building will be comprised of brick and stone. No cost estimates or timeline were available. Attempts to contact MRA officials for comment were unsuccessful. – See more at:https://madisoncountyeda.com/mras-new-middle-school-approved-by-board-includes-new-cafeteria/
